KiteGen Power has chosen Dubai as the home of its first gigawatt-scale project and the strategic base for a worldwide tropospheric energy industry — establishing the Emirate as the intended pioneer and primary exporter of high-altitude wind power.
The KiteGen Carousel adds the around-the-clock pillar the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 needs. A maglev ground rail driven by lightweight wings flying between 600 and 5,000 metres, it harvests winds up to four times more powerful than those at ground level, targeting a levelized cost of energy below $0.005/kWh.
