KiteGen Power has chosen Dubai as the home of its first gigawatt-scale project and the strategic base for a worldwide tropospheric energy industry — positioning the Emirate as the pioneer and primary exporter of high-altitude wind power.
The KiteGen Carousel will supply the around-the-clock pillar the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 still needs. A maglev ground rail driven by lightweight wings flying at 1–5 km, it harvests winds up to four times stronger than those at the surface — clean baseload that runs day and night, at a targeted levelised cost below $5/MWh.
The move also advances the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and its goal of ranking the city among the world's top three economies by 2033. Building this industry from the Emirate would give Dubai an early lead in an entirely new energy sector — and recast the wind above the desert as the oil of the 21st century, with Dubai as its first exporter.
